Sentiero Cima Sospiri

Floating block

A mid-level hike that leads to one of the most scenic peaks around Lake Garda and Tremosine, with about 860 meters altitude difference and a length of about 8 km. The estimated time for this hike is about 4 hours and 30 minutes.

The starting point is Fornaci, located at 733 meters above sea level, where you can leave your car. Start by taking path number 163, surrounded by forest for the most part, which quickly climbs in altitude, reaching Bocca Sospiri after a little while. At this stage, you’ll find yourself at 999 meters above sea level, after about an hour and 15 minutes walk.

Keep following path 163, until you cross path 165. Take path 165 heading left, and continue through bushes and slight slopes until you reach path number 106, which continues towards Nota. Keep hiking along it for a while, until you find path 163 on your right hand side, which rises steeply via a series of hairpin bends. Then, you’ll leave the forest behind, and enter an environment with rocks and bushes - soon afterwards, you will reach Cima della Selva first, with beautiful views of Mount Stivo, and then climb to Cima Sospiri, 1266 meters above sea level.

There we recommend taking a break to admire the panorama of the peaks of Lake Garda including Mount Baldo and Mount Altissimo, as well as the Bondo Valley in the foreground.

To return to the place known as Fornaci where the hike began, keep following path number 163 through steep hairpin bends, entering the forest once you reach lower altitudes, until the intersection with path 165. Take it and turn left, always heading slightly downhill, then pass a tight bend until you reach the junction with path 110 in the place known as Degà. Following the signs for Mount Bestone, keep descending until you reach the last junction - take the path on the right to return to Fornaci, the starting point of our hike.
