Discovering farming tradition

Floating block

Lovers of nature and traditions, grab your backpacks! This itinerary, immersed in nature modeled by man and used for agricultural purposes, will take you to discover the agricultural tradition of Tremosine sul Garda and its villages, among hay fields, hills and views of Lake Garda. Along the way it is not unusual to meet farmers working the land, or women and young people who help gather the hay. You’ll feel as if you were taking a journey through time and space!

We’ll start from Località Polzone, a natural area of the Tremosine sul Garda plateau where there are large pine woods alternating with deciduous patches. In Polzone there is the Cooperative and Alpe del Garda Cheese Factory, with livestock grazing just in front. Make sure you grab a snack for later!

From Polzone and the place known as Ca del Lupo, take the old mule track along Costa Pelata, then take Via della Libertà, and follow it to the intersection with Via Vassacler. Before turning on this road, stop and cool off at the Acquafredda fountain.

Continuing on Via Vassacler you will arrive at Nai, at 856 meters above sea level, surrounded by the greenery and silence of Val Larga and the nature of Tremosine sul Garda. Here you can rest or have a snack, perhaps with products purchased just before directly at the shop of the Alpe del Garda Cheese Factory.

Continuing through the village and along a path you will reach Sermerio, at 641 meters above sea level - here you can spend some time visiting its three districts, Terra, Brea and Frenzano, and the church dedicated to San Bernardo Abate and San Martino Vescovo, probably dating back to the sixteenth century.

From Sermerio, take the path that leads to Bocca di Nevese, 750 meters above sea level, with a beautiful scenic view of Lake Garda. Near the Bocca di Nevese, on the top of a hill, you’ll find ‘Al Franet’, a working farm welcoming visitors. Don’t miss visiting the farm and the adjacent small dairy, where Saanen goats milk is processed.
