The numerous churches, votive shrines and chapels scattered throughout the territory of Tremosine sul Garda are evidence of the profound Christian roots of the local community.
The small town of Secastello does not have a real church, but a beautiful chapel covered in frescoes, dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua.
The chapel of Sant’Antonio
The chapel is built in masonry like many of the votive shrines found in the area, but one of the main differences is the presence of an iron gate to protect the structure, and a roof to cover it.
The interior walls are completely decorated - the central part portrays the Madonna with the child and Sant’Antonio, while on the walls we can see the sacrifice of Isaac on the right, and paintings of Saints Filippo and Valentino on the left.
Unfortunately, the painter is unknown, and it has not yet been possible to associate a name to the frescoes.

In the small villages of Tremosine sul Garda, you can also admire votive shrines dedicated to the Madonna or the saints, simpler and more essential, or chapels like the one dedicated to Sant'Antonio, more complex and decorated.
On the houses of the Tremosine sul Garda villages you can often find frescoes depicting sacred scenes - these are widely spread throughout the town.
